23rd Kalpanirjhar International Short Fiction Film Festival Kolkata
5 to 8 October 2026
- Films made in celluloid or digital format within a running time upto 30 minutes in the genre of ‘short fiction’ and made after 1 January 2024 are eligible for entry. Documentaries will not be accepted. Entries will be subject to selection by the Kalpanirjhar Selection Committee.
- Entries for preview will be accepted in digital version or online transfers only. Last date for receiving entries is
12 September 2026.
There will be an entry fee of INR 500 (Indian rupees five hundred, non-refundable) for Indian entries only to be transferred online directly (preferably through NEFT) to the savings bank
account of “Kalpanirjhar Foundation”, at The South Indian Bank Ltd, Ballygunge Branch, Account number: 0267053000002601, IFS Code: SIBL0000267. Please submit proof of payment of entry fee along with the other documents. - There will be a Kalpanirjhar Award carrying a cash prize of INR 25,000 and a trophy for the Best Indian Film to be selected by a national jury from among the Indian entries selected for the festival. Non-Indian entries cannot compete for these awards. All selected films will get a festival participation laurel.
- Films made in any language other than English must have English subtitles.
- The entry form should be filled in legibly, must be complete and accompanied by the details of the online transfer. Incomplete entries will not be considered.
- The entries should reach us before the last date for submission.
- Excerpts from selected films may be used for publicity purposes only.
- Information about selected entries will be individually intimated and also put up on the Kalpanirjhar Foundation website www.kalpanirjhar.com.
